Wow, it's been a long time since my last journal. That's because for a while nothing was changing except I was getting a bit depressed/sick. I think it was the lack of poor nutrition etc. But, I got my money and since then I've been feeling better. I got a 5 out of 5 on my philosophy reflection (first time ever!), did alright on my latin sight exam, went hiking with

and some of her classmates, and just have been generally catching up, but it wasn't very interesting.
Yesterday on the other hand... now that was fun. It's been a total secret from everyone except my close friends, in case I chickened out, but for about a year and a half now, I've wanted to get my helix (that's upper ear cartilege) pierced. I was going to do it for my birthday, but being broke, I couldn't. Well, I finally got to yesterday.

I love it so much! It took ten minutes from walking in the door of the studio to walking out, and it hurt less than my second lobes, which were done with an (EVIL) gun. Now I just have six months of aftercare! Lol. Anyway, after the piercing and some grocery shopping I went down to Richmond and finally explored Daiso, a Japanese dollar store with an amazing bunch of things. Specifically I was after bento gear, and I got some cute stuff.
Then I went to a dinner meetup with some people from the Anime Evolution (my local anime convention) - my first ever. They're all pretty weird, so it was great fun, and I met another newbie who was also pretty shy and also lives in East Van. We took the skytrain back, only to find out we'd missed the last bus ;_; I learnt that it's 3.7 miles from Cambie street to Nanaimo street, and I walked it all. But it was so worth it, and now I'm super excited for the convention, even if it's months away.
Anyhew, time to go make dinner (pasta!)
Oh, and I will
try to work on D&L during the olympic break, but no promises.

We all know Capricorns are awesome, but here's wishing you a full year of all the best of that star sign -- stability, confidence, drive and success. And of course, that perfect bit of ass-kicking, knocking down walls that stand in the way of goals.
So here's wishing you a happy birthday and I hope that rain turns to snow, because snow is awesome.
Cheers!
Thanks for the birthday wishes and the pretty pictures
